BrightHire alternatives: intelligence or AI screening?
We build Gaugely, so our bias is explicit. Competitor claims and published prices were checked against the linked vendor pages; custom quotes and packaging can change.
BrightHire, which Zoom now lists among its own products, combines interview planning, AI screening, notes, insights, fraud signals, and enterprise controls for teams improving the whole interview process. Gaugely is the simpler path: AI first-round interviews, plus scorecards for the live interviews your team runs, drafted from your call's own transcript with no notetaker bot.

The shortest honest answer
Choose Gaugely when
lean recruiting teams that want AI to run the first-round interview and to write up the live interviews they run themselves, without a bot in the call. Gaugely covers CV ranking, live AI voice or video interviews, behavioral and coding questions, scorecards for your own Zoom, Meet or Teams interviews from their transcript, bulk invites, and feedback, with a free tier.
Choose BrightHire when
mid-market and enterprise talent teams that want interview intelligence across planning, interviewing, decisioning, and improvement. BrightHire’s current site presents a full interview platform: planning, AI Interviewer, AI notes, insights, integrations, candidate-fraud detection, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What BrightHire currently covers
BrightHire’s current homepage positions the product as an interview-intelligence platform spanning plan, screen, interview, decide, and improve. It describes an always-on AI interviewer, compliant recording and transcription, interview notes, candidate summaries, fraud signals, and interviewer coaching.
Zoom now lists BrightHire among its own products, next to Zoom Workplace.
BrightHire is designed to improve a broader human-led interview program. Gaugely is narrower: it runs the first-round screen itself and writes up the live interviews your team runs.
BrightHire versus Gaugely: interview program or screening product?
BrightHire is strongest when the team wants to improve the entire interview program: planning, interviewer guidance, notes, evidence, decisioning, and coaching. Gaugely is strongest when the team wants to replace a repetitive first-round screen with a live agent and return a scorecard that points to the candidate’s own words.
The products can be used together in a mature stack, but a small team should not buy an interview-intelligence platform for a problem that a focused screening product can solve.

Interview notes with or without a bot
BrightHire’s help center says its notetaker joins Google Meet interviews as a participant to record and transcribe everything, and that on Zoom it uses Zoom’s own recording disclosure and consent options. Because the notetaker captures the call, nobody downloads a transcript afterwards.
Gaugely takes the other route for live interviews: nothing joins the call. Afterwards you upload the transcript Zoom, Meet or Teams made (or paste it, or your own notes), pick which speaker is the candidate, and AI drafts a scorecard that quotes them against the job’s rubric. It adds one step and needs a call plan that transcribes, and it suits teams where an extra participant in the call is unwelcome or not allowed.
When BrightHire is the better choice
Choose BrightHire when the interview program itself is the problem: interviewer consistency, notes, feedback, candidate-fraud visibility, and continuous improvement are the buying requirements. Its current platform is built for that broader job.
Choose Gaugely when the team needs to screen a high-volume applicant pool now and wants a self-serve agent that ranks CVs, asks questions, and returns a focused scorecard. Gaugely can free recruiter time for the human conversations BrightHire is designed to improve.
- Choose BrightHire for interview intelligence across human-led interviews.
- Choose Gaugely for a live AI screen before human interviews.
- Ask whether you are buying an interview layer or a hiring decision workflow.
What to test
Run one role through the BrightHire workflow if it is on the shortlist, then run the same role through Gaugely. Compare evidence quality, reviewer time, candidate completion, and the ability to distinguish a weak answer from a missing answer. The right tool is the one that improves the decision your team must make.
Other alternatives worth considering
A fair shortlist includes more than our product. These options solve different parts of screening and technical hiring, so verify the unit, allowance, and contract behind every price.

Questions buyers ask
What is the best BrightHire alternative?
Gaugely is a strong alternative for a focused AI screening loop with CV ranking, live interviews, scorecards, and candidate feedback. BrightHire remains the better choice for interview intelligence across human-led interviews, planning, notes, and interviewer improvement.
Does BrightHire replace the interview itself?
BrightHire now presents an AI Interviewer alongside its interview-intelligence products. The platform is still broader than a focused screening agent and also supports human-led interviews, notes, insights, and coaching.
How much does BrightHire cost?
BrightHire’s pricing page prices its products by interview or applicant volume and asks you to request a demo, without a standard price table. Ask which modules are included in the quote.
Is there a BrightHire alternative without a notetaker bot?
Yes. Gaugely writes scorecards for live interviews from the transcript your call platform already makes. Nothing joins the call: you upload the Zoom, Meet or Teams transcript afterwards, pick the candidate, and review a scorecard that quotes them.
